Mr. Sami Sharif started his career as an actuary at American International Group (AIG), where he rose to the position of Chief Actuary and worked in various places such as New York and the Middle East. He proceeded to work as a consultant at McKinsey & Company in the United States and from there to Booz Allen, today known as Strategy&, in Europe and in the Middle East. During this period, he conducted various strategic studies for several private and governmental institutions.
He then took over the position of a member of the Board of Directors and Regional CEO of the American global company ACE, known today as CHUBB. He founded the company in Egypt and in the UAE and headed their businesses.
Mr. Sami Sharif served as CEO of AIM Consulting, a management and actuarial consulting firm in Asia, the Middle East and Europe, during which time he was also a board member of Omni Life, in the United Kingdom.
He moved to the Islamic Arab Insurance Company and worked as a General Manager in the UAE, establishing the Misr Emirates Life Insurance Company branch, where he held the position of Vice Chairman and Managing Director. He has held the position of CEO of Kuwait Insurance Company since 2016, also he is the chairman of Kuwait Islamic Takaful Insurance Company.
Mr. Sami Sharif holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and Space Physics and a Master of Mathematics, both from the University of Houston in the United States, - where he worked for several years as a lecturer in Mathematics and Statistics. He has been a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) in the United States since 1996 and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA) since 1993.
Mr. Meshari Al Nusf currently holds the position of Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Islamic Takaful Insurance Company. He also serves as a board member and a member of the audit committee at Kuwait Reinsurance Company. Mr. Meshari has been working at Kuwait Insurance Company since 2009, progressing from administrative to leadership roles as Director of Investments and as the Secretary to the Board of Directors. He holds accredited certificates in insurance, as well as in anti-money laundering and terrorism financing. Mr. Meshari holds a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master's Degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Finance from the University of Denver in the United States.
Mr. Omar Al Bahar currently holds the position of Board Member at Kuwait Islamic Takaful Insurance Company and is also the Director of Human Resources and Administration at Kuwait Insurance Company. Mr. Omar has over 30 years of practical experience in both the public and private sectors. He began his career in the public sector, working in the Ministries of Information, Social Affairs, and Labor from 1991 to 1996. He then transitioned to the private sector, joining Kuwait Insurance Company in 1996, progressing from administrative to leadership roles. Mr. Omar received his education in Kuwait, earning a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Kuwait University in 1996, and accredited certificates in insurance from the Chartered Insurance Institute in the UK.
Mr. Ousama Elbizri currently holds the position of Board Member at Kuwait Islamic Takaful Insurance Company and He is also the Chief Financial Officer at Kuwait Insurance Company. With over twenty years of professional experience, Mr. Ousama has held various positions in Beirut, Riyadh, Bahrain, and Kuwait. He began his career at MedGulf Insurance and Reinsurance Company, progressing from administrative in 1998 to leadership roles as General Manager for Motion (Medgulf’s TPA) in 2019. In 2019, he joined Kuwait Insurance Company as the Head of the Motor Insurance Department. Mr. Ousama Elbizri holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the American University of Science and Technology in Lebanon.
Mr. Jean Safi currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors at Kuwait Islamic Takaful Insurance Company. He is also the Reinsurance and Technical Director at Kuwait Insurance Company since 2023. Mr. Jean has over 25 years of practical and managerial experience in the insurance and reinsurance sector across Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and Kuwait.
He began his career working in Abu Dhabi in 1998, then moved to Saudi Arabia from 2002 to 2005, where he had a significant role at MedGulf as the Reinsurance Manager. Mr. Jean then relocated to Beirut and worked with two insurance companies from 2007 to 2014. He also held the position of Executive Director of Reinsurance, Underwriting, and Claims and served as the Acting General Manager at Salama Insurance in Dubai from 2015 to 2016. Additionally, Mr. Jean worked as a Reinsurance Consultant in the United Kingdom for the Middle East region.
Mr. Jean holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the Lebanese American University in Lebanon, obtained in 1997, and has also earned certified qualifications in insurance, project management, and training in Quality Management Systems and ISO 9000 standards.
